    Description

You are bidding on a 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Windflower K 155, a Flower Class (39-40 program) Corvette which served in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1941.
Windflower was laid down on February 24, 1940 at the Davie Shipbuilding yards in Lauzon, Quebec. She was launched on July 4, 1940 and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on May 15, 1941, with Pennant number K 155.
Like her sister corvettes she was employed on several different convoy routes. She was lost in action, on December 7, 1941, with 23 of her crew, after being rammed in dense fog by a Dutch freighter she was escorting.
Photograph one, is undated and shows an overall waterline port beam view.
Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships memorial card, general characteristics, trivia and the ensigns she proudly flew.
