Description
You are bidding on a 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Wetaskiwin K 175, a Flower Class (39-40 program) Corvette, which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1940 to 1945.The Wetaskiwin began her life at Burrard Dry Dock on April 11, 1940. She was launched on July 18, 1940 and was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on December 17, 1940.
After convoy escort service, she was sold to Venezuela, serving until 1962.
Photograph one is an undated photo and shows an overall waterline starboard bow view.
Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing one of her famous “politically incorrect” ships badges, general characteristics, callsign, nickname, trivia and the ensigns she proudly flew.
Item three is an 8 x 10 colour with a short history of the Wetaskiwin, complete with a list of her Battle of the Atlantic Commanding Officers, and a crew photo.
