    Description

    You are bidding on an 8 x 10 black and white photograph of the first HMCS Halifax K 237, the Flower Class Corvette which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 to 1945.
    The Halifax began her life on 26 April 1941 at the Collingwood Shipyards in Ontario. s . She was launched on 04 October 1941 and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on 26 November 1941.
    She served as an escort on the east coast and during 1942 was under US control for the New York to Guantanamo convoys. She was paid off on 12 July 1945 and sold for conversion to a salvage vessel.
    Her proud name was revived in 1992 for the lead ship of the Class of Canadian Patrol Frigates.
    Photograph one is an undated and shows an overall waterline port bow view.
