    Description

    You are bidding on a 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Forest Hill K 486 ( ex HMS Ceanothus ) , a Royal Navy Flower Class ( Increased Endurance ) which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1943 to 1945.
    Forest Hill was laid down as HMS Ceanothus on 05 February 1943, at Ferguson Bros. Ltd, Port Glasgow, Scotland. She was launched on 30 August 1943 , and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy 01 December 1943. She was one of four Corvettes traded to the RCN for four Canadian built Algerine Class minesweepers.
    Like her sister corvettes she served on convoy escorts in the Battle of Atlantic. She was paid of at Sorel, Quebec in July 1945, and broken up at Hamilton, Ontario in 1948.
    Photograph one, is undated and shows an overall waterline port bow view.
    Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships badge, general characteristics, callsign, trivia and the ensigns she proudly flew.
    Item three is an 8 x 10 colour with a short history of the Forest Hill , complete with a list of her Commanding Officers, and a December 1943 Commissioning Crew photo.
