Description
You are bidding on an 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Cobalt K 124, the Flower Class Corvette of the ( 1939-1940 ) Program, which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1940 to 1945.Cobalt was laid down on April 1, 1940, at Port Arthur Shipbuilding Yards. She was launched on August 17, 1940 , and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on November 25, 1940 with pennant K 124.
Like her sister corvettes she served on convoy escorts in the Battle of Atlantic. She was paid off in June 1945, and sold into the Dutch mercantile service as the Johanna W Vinke
Photograph one, is undated and shows an overall overhead port beam view.
