Description
You are bidding on a 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Brandon K 149 , a Flower Class (39-40 program) Corvette, which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 to 1945.The Brandon began her life at the venerable Davie shipyards on October 10, 1940. She was launched on April 29, 1941 and was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on July 22, 1941.
Like all Canadian Corvettes she helped win the Battle of the Atlantic on convoy duties. At war’s end she was paid off and broken up at Hamilton, Ontario in 1945.
Photograph one is circa 1943, and shows an overall waterline port bow view.
Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships badge, general characteristics, callsign, trivia and the ensigns she proudly flew.
Item three is a short history of the Brandon, with a complete list of her Commanding Officers, and a crew photo.
