Description
You are bidding on an 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Atholl K 15 the Flower Class Corvette of the ( Increased Endurance 1942-1943) Program, which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1943 to 1945.Atholl was laid down on 15 August 1942 at Morton Enginerring & dry Dock at Quebec City. She was launched on 04 April 1943, and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on 14 October 1943 with pennant K 15.
Like her sister corvettes she served on convoy escorts in the Battle of Atlantic. She was paid off in July 1945, and broken at Hamilton, Ontario in 1952.
Photograph one, is undated and shows an overall waterline port bow view.
Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships badge, general characteristics, callsign, trivia, and the ensigns she proudly flew.
