    Description

    You are bidding on an 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Amherst  K 148,  the Flower  Class Corvette of the ( 1939-1940  ) Program, which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 to 1945.
    Amherst was laid down on May 23, 1940, at the Saint John Dry Dock shipyards.  She was launched on December 4, 1940 , and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on August 5, 1941 with pennant
    K 148.
    Like her sister corvettes she served on convoy escorts in the Battle of Atlanti. She was paid off in July 1945, and sold to Venezuela to become the Caraboho. She sank in the Gulf of St Lawrence enroute.
    Photograph one, is undated and shows an overall waterline port beam view.
    Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships badge, general characteristics, callsign, trivia, and the ensigns she proudly flew.
