MASSIVE Antique Brazilian Penca de Balangandan with 9 Charm ~ Dates early 19th century ~ Some Friut , Vegetables ~ The charms can be added or removed ,by removing a simple Jump ring . It looks to be made or brass or copper ..not sure of the metal .. I think this types were worn suspended from a heavy chain worn around the waist by African slaves who were brought to Brazil during the 17th and 18th centuries or hung on a wall or behind a door to protect from evil spirits ... Measurements : 7 inches in total drop length x 5 inches max width . Condition : overall good antique condition . Few tiny dents /dings to the charms .
