This listing and price is for 1 rare antique Japanese iron garden lantern, Lanterns authentically made in japan, (not the cheap Korean knock offs found on e bay ),are uncommon, few made these days, and those of this quality and size retail in antique shops between 1,000 to 2,000 dollars each. You can research them yourself in japanese antique shops such as 1st Dibbs antiques to verify retail prices sold for. This one is a , Miajima style , beautifully designed and crafted. It has a calligraphy poem embossed on the lotus blossom roof. On the face, a 4 criss cross design ,cut panels and a top/bottom smaller rectangle cut out border. It has a hinged door that opens for placing candle on the base of the interior and when lit it will cast an array of delightful patterns . It is heavy, strong,in great condition has a beautiful rustic patina, and 3 small feet supports on the base . Measures 11"high, 10" wide , . There are many decades of life left in this lantern.
